What timber do you use for decks?
It depends on the look you’re after and your budget. Hardwoods like merbau and spotted gum are popular for their durability and rich colour, and we’ll talk you through the options at the consult so you can pick what suits your home and how much upkeep you want to do.
Covered or open — which deck is better?
Both have their place. An open deck is great for sun and entertaining; a covered alfresco or pergola-roofed deck lets you use the space in rain and harsh summer sun. We’ll look at your aspect and how you want to use it, then recommend what makes the most sense for your home.
Do I need council approval for a deck?
